Grande, Grande, Grande (/Never, Never, Never) by Mina, Vicky Carr & Shirley Bassey

“Mina, Vicky Carr or Shirley Bassey, who do you fancy? Mina did it first thanks to the work of a young bass guitar player, Pino Presti, who offered a more modern musical arrangement, which finally made Mina agree to perform it. The song itself was written 1972 by Italians Alberto Testa and Tony Renis. It was a No. 1 hit for Mina in Italy. Later Shirley Bassey heard it and wanted to make an English version, hence "Never Never Never", which made it to No 1. in the U.K., U.S. and Australia. Before that Vicky had already recorded her Spanish version. In France Mireille Mathieu made a french version 1974 "Folle, follement heureuse" 1974.
