Just thinking about my horror boys again (but what day goes by that I don't think about them?)
For those of you who haven't been subjected to it on Facebook... I've spent the last month absolutely fixated on M&S. I mean, I've been a fan for over a year, but this month I couldn't get enough of them. This song is the latest fixation, because it hits so many points for me. Not only is it a gorgeous, stripped-down illustration of how to make good music, but it was inspired by a book I love (John Steinbeck's East of Eden) and, like the book, centers on the translation of a Hebrew word (I'm a biblical scholar by profession). Today this song's got me doing some interpretive work on Genesis 4:7 and, by extension, 3:16, so I imagine it will be on infinite loop at my house for a while yet.
I wanted to post it as it was used in tv series 'Hell On Wheels' episode 1.09 http://youtu.be/-si9_hrflzw
perfect calming song for finals week. all I need is a place to sit, some noise cancelling headphones, and this song on repeat
