Great songs always still sound great (or better) stripped back to just an acoustic guitar, here is Noel singing one of his best.

A modern classic, written by Noel, in 1991, before he joined the band. It's said to be about his mother and inspired by The Rolling Stones' "Shine a Light". Later in an interview he said: "It was written in the middle of grunge and all that, and I remember Nirvana had a tune called 'I Hate Myself and Want to Die', and I was like . . . 'Well, I'm not fucking having that.' As much as I fucking like him [Kurt Cobain] and all that shit, I'm not having that." Clip is from the late show 1996.
