This is FREAKY AS SHIT
PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS HI OCTANE ODDITY ENTIRELY. From 1967. Hoo-wee, after all these years I am still struck by the darkly weird space this had to have sprung from!Genius. In turns, inversely psychedelic and overtly psychotic. It wafts in innocently enough with what seems to be the familiar self indulgent & depressive doggerel an overly sensitive high school girl might have written, and THEN.... well, I had an image of her attending an alternative high school where H.P. Lovecraft designed the curriculum; plenty of course work in applied metaphysics with Cthulhu's imprimatur. Briefly: dying girl with"bad blood.(?)" Her mother blames it on the music she's been listening to.She ultimately opens a vein to allow the blood to flow on music paper, hoping her boyfriend transforms the blood splotches into musical notation -- as long as it doesn't get played backwards(?!) Nora Guthrie is Woody's daughter!! She seems sane enough... now.
