“I was trying to combine #hippiedaze with #ESCWeek and came to think about this one. The "Your breasts are like swallows in nesting"-song. That line caused quite a stir back in the day.. Breasts.. Outrageous! Fact is that the lyrics were written by Lars Forssell a poet and member of the Swedish academy (same people who hand out the nobel prize in literature). The idea was to upgrade the traditionally bad lyrics of ESC into something more cultivated and arty.. Uh.. Well.. I'm not sure about the english translation, nor their pronunciation and especially not the out of key backup singer. But other than that I really like it. Especially the nesting breasts.. It finished 5th back in 1973. I might add that that the conductor was the first female one in ESC ever, and that was probably shocking too. Also, the general opinion was that the wrong song won - ABBA made their debut in ESC the same year with "Ring, Ring" and didn't qualify. Especially for @denizenofdreams my 500th follower. Welcome!”
