on 8 september 2014 around 14:30 utc+01, i was standing on a rail platform in madrid, idly checking twitter while waiting for my train, and on my timeline there was a tweet from the @real_liam_payne. he linked a video in which the beautiful, strapping young lads of one direction informed me that they were releasing a new album in november called FOUR but that that day they had put up a track from the album for free download. that track, "FIREPROOF," transformed me in minutes into Woman Crying Alone on Train, and then i lost my sunglasses because i was too overwhelmed to remember them when i got to my stop, and then later that evening a friendly old woman walked in on me dancing to it in the nude. despite these turns of luck, every time fireproof comes on i inevitably say "this is the greatest song ever written" and jam/cry/dance sadly for its entire duration. FIREPROOF is the greatest thing one direction have done in a whole career of great things. FIREPROOF is everything to me.
