Just a really beautiful song
I have completely forgotten where I was heading before the most excellent XTCweek came along. I was listening to UncannyUK's posting "The Somnambulist" and was reminded of this song.

I've always had a soft spot for OMITD, even when they lost IT, they were still listenable. During their most experimental times, they would often end albums with a peculiar love song to inanimate objects - fighter planes, sea forts and this one about an oil refinery. A dreamy cacophony.
