Feuds. Certainties in life. Death and taxes said Daniel Defoe. I'd add (amongst other things) feuds. We'll all have had an argument that has exceeded a simple difference of opinion. It festers and becomes a full blown feud. Music history is littered with them. Noel&Liam, Ray&Dave Davies, Simon& Garfunkel...Waters&Gilmour. Floydies have been fascinated over the enmity between Roger&David, pretty much from the moment their 'relationship' became a bitter disentanglement. I guess this is the price to be paid, for working in close proximity and under extremes of pressure. No-one other than the 'players' really knows what has transpired, to reach the ultimate stage of terminal breakdown. However, as the great Mr Lydon once said, "anger is an energy" and when two musical leviathans such as Messrs Waters&Gilmour locked horns, tracks like Mother, were born. A track, so stunningly beautiful (IMHO) it positively endorses channeled hostility! Now, reconciliation, that's a whole other ball game...
