Because I love the crunchy guitar opening. I enjoy the early/mid 90s R.E.M. and think this album has aged pretty well. Has it really been 20 years already?

Replace Mike Mills' brilliantly melodic bassline with chugging roots in 8th notes and this just wouldn't be the same song. Possibly the reason he's the one wearing the most elaborate outfit in the video. With a very clean tone and lots of musicality, he nearly manages to overshadow all the tricks on Peter Buck's pedal board.

Been reading an R.E.M. biography this week, I know everyone hates Monster era R.E.M. but I've always had a soft spot for that album cause I loved it when I was 14.

Hard to believe this came out 20 years ago today!
