Just Like a Woman by Roberta Flack
“Yesterday I read in the news paper that they predict that equality will occur in 2205. And that's here in Sweden.... I live in the worlds most equal society. Ain't it strange that it's so God damn hard? I'm a feminist... of course I am. I do not get people who aren't - to me that's like saying you're racist, or it tells me you're ignorant about the issue. However, lately (in my social media feeds) there's been lots of talk about these injustices. Quite hostile posts. And I sit and I think that if we just understood that the liberation of women goes hand in hand with the liberation of men, we might come a little closer to the target. Men are just as tied down by their role in society as we are. (It's just that they are way more benefited by those ties.) This song is for all of us: women, men, black, Asian or gay, for we are all humans with feelings, dreams and a need for acceptance. Let's just do it! It's also #favcovers and have a good day!”
