This single was originally released in 1982 on the Birdie label. This song was sampled be Dr. Dre for his 1995 collaboration with Tupac, “California Love.” The original track itself contains samples from Zapp and Roger and Booker T and the MGs. After starting his career with Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers, Ronnie Hudson became a recording bassist for Stax and worked on a number of projects with Issac Hayes.
