Theme: 1986 Two great rap albums came out of NYC in 1986. The Beastie Boys released "Licensed to Ill" and Run DMC broke out with "Raising Hell." It would be a few years before the Beasties would reach their peak with the astounding "Paul's Boutique." Run DMC would never again reach the heights they set on this album, which was the blueprint for much of the hip-hop we still listen to today.
