Some lovely foreshadowing of the obsession with flesh and decay to be found in his more recent works.

Just heard Bish Bosch (merry Xmas btw!). Here's a Jacques Brel song that's just as disturbing.

You just don't get lyrics like "I swear on the wet head of my first case of gonorrhea" any more...   6

#NaughtyWeek Scott Walker, once the pretty-boy, mums' favourite from his early days with the Walker Brothers, done a remarkable job of reinventing himself in the late 60s with a string of sophisticated adventurous solo albums. Jaques Brel, the Belgian songwriter ( and a fine one too ),  wrote several songs for these albums including this one ( which was considered pretty shocking at its' time ) from "Scott 2" Listen to the words and I think you'll agree with me that all that is needed to be added to the moral of the story is that if you are Army personnel, then try not to get involved in the "Mobile Army Whorehouse"....HaHa!   22

Great song written by Jacques Brel who's lyrics so brilliantly capture the experience of the loss of innocence. This song was also covered equally well by the Sensational Alex Harvey Band
