so hard to choose an early scritti song. this is music at the point of collapse, ramshackle & deliberate.
From the '4 A sides' ep, Rough Trade 1979. Green called their style at this time 'messthetics', anti-rock, 'a music that wasn't'. Hmmm, sounds a trifle pretentious now but Scritti Politti were a collective then, with what they saw as a serious mission. #greenchain
