Found in great record shop (Elvis Shakespeare) in Edinburgh on vinyl this week.
Sounds like summer. The Summer of 1993 to be precise. My first outdoor gig (the very one featured in the video), back before XFM had been granted a broadcast licence and they were just getting trial runs and a Finsbury Park one-dayer (the Cure, Carter USM, Senseless Things, Sugar, Kingmaker and an acoustic interlude from Damon and Graham from Blur, plus... erm... the Frank and Walters. We don't talk about them. And we're not sure if we still talk about Kingmaker either). We may have had a spare ticket and may have tried to a convince a friend who had glandular fever (or mono, for the North Americans) to come to the gig with us. The weather was lovely; I sure she would have been fine had she said yes...
another all time fave. never can hear this song enough. for all my friends that were "pop kids" back in the day...
