The Shout Out Louds are a band after my own heart. They do a great job of using unique sounds and writing catchy tunes with said sounds. Here I love the vocals (as per usual), The catchy guitar plucking, and the decision to primarily use bass drum instead of the full kit. Really though this is just top notch production. The mixing is spot on and its a near perfect use of dynamics. Just listen to those synths wavering in the background. Very low practically hidden in the mix. Then listen as the other instruments drop out leaving the synths to dance in the spotlight unencumbered. Plus the last 1:30 is just a burst of sound. Most notably the full drum kit replaces the steady bass drum beat.
