Timeless, Brings Me Straight Back To The 80's !   2

pajo 5 Aug 2014

Energy. In the mid-80s, there was, in my opinion, only one band that ACTUALLY mattered. The Minds. Whenever there was the slightest chance to catch them live, I was there. They were simply vital and most of all, they were fae Glesga' (from Glasgow..in English). I saw them perform this number, amongst others, in the Barrowlands, January 1985. On the night, the crowd were simply frantic. No matter what part of the floor you chose to inhabit, it was wall to wall sweat. Pure raw energy. Midway through the set, when those of us at the ripe old age of 26 were still trying to pogo whilst breathing (out of our arses) on steps Mr Bono to join Mr Kerr in a rendition of New Gold Dream. I thought the roof was going to come off and in the general carnage, I did spot my recently ex-girlfriend being carted off by two pals, having fainted with the sheer heat being generated in the hall..although it may have been on seeing me..ahem. Anyway, this belter brings it right back. Play it loud, Jamsters...   28
