For my #LastJams, I am playing the Aja album (my avatar, my favorite album, my favorite band), one tune per weekday until August 31st. This is the third track on the record. You may also notice it is my eternal jam, so I thought about saving it until the very last jam, but I thought I would keep the continuity. In my opinion, this song shows Steely Dan's music mastery better than any other. There are 38 different guitar chords in this tune! Plus, it may be the best lyrics Fagen ever wrote. A song of contrasting winning and losing in life that just oozes that late 70's funky, jazz rock. This album is a masterpiece.
...o.k., firstly, i do get it, taste is subjective...and since only 60% of those who listened liked my previous jam, i suspect even less will like this offering...so, here it comes...another cut from Steely Dan"s masterful (my opinion) album, aja...
