It's a bright shiny day today, and hot and humid, but the past week or so it's been flooding down here in Texas. That means for me it's as good a time as any to jam a little lovin' from Stevie Ray Vaughan. You know he musta met Ben and BB at The Gate with a bottle of Jack Daniels. They swung around to Jimi's house and hopped in Janis' buggy and set off for The Great Gig In The Sky. Every night is Ladies Night. No cover. No drink minimum. Tip jars always overflowing. I no longer believe in the Abrahamic heaven, but I like to imagine there's a rock n roll heaven. The best musicians of past present future and all their friends and colleagues celebrating not a simpleminded god or an inferior human philosophy, but just celebrating music. I could after-live with that.
