A lot of music from the eighties have aged horribly. Some would argue that this song makes no exception but if you spent your childhood in the shadows of the cold war chances are that this song will strike a chord with you. Electronic. Im not mad at it.
8 years ago I said that the old Russian guard was dead of dying, today we know that to be untrue. Americans have too long associated what the state of Russia was by the movies we watched. We were fools, and now we reap the whirlwind. While American media focus on Hollywood drama and feel good fluff stories the "Reds" have been plotting the same course of totalitarianism. I used to think Stings song was horribly out of date, you tell me.
Still lyrically awesome after all these years.
