No Shade In The Shadow Of The Cross by Sufjan Stevens
“New music from Sufjan Stevens from his upcoming album. It's a spare and moving album about his relationship with his alcoholic father and schizophrenic, depressive mom. Like most of his music, there is a lot to unpack here. He is a very private artist, but in a moving article for Pitchfork he opens up about his faith and family: http://pitchfork.com/features/interviews/9595-true-myth-a-conversation-with-sufjan-stevens/”

This year will mark 10 years of Illinois album. But his new stuff sounds just as good.

Lovely, always, to hear Sufjan's voice and an acoustic. And Lent, I guess, a good time to release a song with a title like this...! (Though lyrics are impenetrable as ever, so who knows what's going on here??)
