Since their return, Brummy five piece Swim Deep have certainly not been shy when it comes to describing how their forthcoming album will sound. In recent interviews front man Austin Williams has described the record as "psychedelic sex music", "a zero gravity gospel record for the masses" and "Kanye West's Yeezus and Fleetwood Mac's Rumours put together with acid house". Although these paint quite a vivid sonic portrait, possibly the best idea of how Swim Deep's second album will sound is their excellent new single To My Brother. Mixing elements of the Stone Roses and 90s Madchester with the surf pop that dripped out of their sensational debut Where The Heaven Are, the track is swept along by the catchy reprise of "I start to get the feeling, all I do is preach to my brother", sounding both different yet not a million miles away from the Swim Deep we know. Psychedelic sex music indeed - hope you enjoy!
Brand new.
