Mostly because I'm out in the country side today.
Embarrassingly, I've only recently started to "get" the Talking Heads. It's still taking time and I'm not there yet but I can tell I'm getting close. We all love the hits, as we should, they're great. But non-singles are where the meat is. This is one of the first cuts of meat that tasted delicious, complex after just a few chews. Go ahead, give it a nibble. It's funky, multiple melodies, fantastic lyrics (even an extended section of a verse about El Paso, GDG), and all over that metronome-perfect, nonstop groove. This is a live version from Stop Making Sense (arguably the greatest live video every produced...and it is a "production," not simply a recording of a concert...you'll see what I mean). Want to know where LCD Soundsystem learned 75 percent of what they (he) knows? Look no further than the Heads, friend.
