We’re dipping back into the Anthology” series (Volume 3) again, with this stripped back version of George’s song. The final recording was given the Phil Spector “treatment” and appeared on the “Let It Be” album, released in 1970. George’s reference to “Dave Dee is no longer with us, etc.” was a reference to John, who had really already left the band. So only George, Ringo and Paul attended the recording session. Sadly, it was the very last song EVER to be recorded by The Fabs and ironic that the song is all about “the ego”!!!! George is quoted as saying, “The song I Me Mine is the ego problem. There are two 'I's: the little 'i' when people say 'I am this'; and the big 'I' - ie duality and ego. There is nothing that isn't part of the complete whole. When the little 'i' merges into the big 'I' then you are really smiling!”
