All the band were big "Little Richard" fans and saw him in concert singing this "mash-up" of two songs, Kansas City with Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey and pinched it for themselves!! Their version on "Beatles For Sale" (UK) & "Beatles VI" (US) was recorded in a single take!!! This live film is from the "Shindig" TV programme in '64.
Paul has said, "I could do Little Richard's voice, which is a wild, hoarse, screaming thing; it's like an out-of-body experience. You have to leave your current sensibilities and go about a foot above your head to sing it. You have to actually go outside yourself. It's a funny little trick and when you find it, it's very interesting."
