Belushi and Aykroyd, John and Dan, Jake and Elwood. The Blues Brothers. Every so often something just comes along and clicks into the culture like it belonged. The sheer weight of people in that film, the stars, the musicians, the whole shebang, is epic and amazing. The rest of the world didn't get SNL. Animal House to The Blues Bros is only a few years, John died way too young -just out of his 20s really. Dan went on to superb things, but still, that short burst of late 70s creativity blew everyone away, and there's been nothing like it since, not really. Or am I just an old grump? Anyway, this is a fab lil' ditty, and always a good jam to warm any band up anywhere anytime. From one grid city to another, Glasgow to Chicago, for tonite only, the fabulous Blues Brothers. I thank you.
