There was a point in my life when I became seriously passionate about my love for The Everly Brothers (I even wanted to name my cat DonandPhil, but my choice was vetoed). This tune, written by Paul McCartney, was on the brothers first album together in 11 years and it was a pretty big deal in 1984. And now, the brothers are no more.
Phil Everly R.I.P.
The original boy band. And still the best.
It might be heresy, but this McCartney-penned anchor for their comeback LP is my favorite of all of their songs.
In memory of Phil Everly, here's a special jam. One of the Beatles' earliest influences were the Everly Brothers, and Paul McCartney wrote this song in 1984 for Phil and Don - and it became the duo's last charted hit.
