John Peel called the Four Brothers the best live band in the world.
I listened to John Peel's 1990 episode of "Desert Island Discs" a few weeks ago, and he included on his list this brilliant mid-80's recording by the Zimbabwean group The Four Brothers, who played a style of Western rock-influenced music called "jit". This is something quite incredible and it's so easy to see why Peel fell in love with it.
From Zimbabwe, a band Peel once called "the best live band in the world." This song was one of his choices on his appearance on "Desert Island Discs" in 1990.
