This is probably one of the most covered songs ever and it's hard to choose one of the covers. The Sonics were contemporaries of The Kingsmen, and this is a distinctly different sound. [Edited]

1970. Not my favorite Kinks song (though I dig it), but it is the one that made me want to hear a lot more.
At number 85..........one of the best bands to emerge out of the early to mid sixties period.......how can you not sing along to Lola?????
