I know they were in a constant conflict, with Sting, whom I really like as a musician and a lyricist, and who played a very important role in my musical education, being a bit of a… well… for the lack of a better word—prick. But that’s kind of a similar story as with The Doors, The Beatles, Pink Floyd and quite a few other bands—great music coming from a clash of personalities. Whatever the background story, it’s still a great song from a classic album.
