(late 1983) With thanks to @ifjuly, my "for real jam." More notes about emotion than granular music thoughts. Swanky bass with wah pedal that might as well be ripped straight from Rick James. The song is crackerjack rock-and-roll, VBC-VBC-VBC, no solo. I remember the video, and remarked to @wolodymyr the other day that I think this video informed/warped my sexuality in the same way that people talk about with 'Baby Got Back.' The band's all in sequin tuxedos in a foil-wrapped room with a bunch of living underwear mannequins. This song's impossible to mix; it's one of those songs that's inherently recorded 20 dB louder than everything else. Only after busting it out recently that I realize that the bridges - her needing him, loving him, wanting him - are actually the secrets she's telling as she sleeps. I had thought - analyze this - that she said those things to him by day and told him mean things at night. So all is well though it seemed awful, @wolodymyr, your favorite kind of story.   3
