An album can collect dust and sit unplayed for a while, but then you blow off the digital dust and let it rip and you remember how amazing it is. Gish is one of those albums, great from first to last. #90sWeek
I was young and still living at home, so when my friends went out of town they thought it might be a treat for me to apartment sit for them. I spent the entire time messing around with their stereo and cd collection. I made tapes of their cds and also made cassettes of audio off their cable tv, including a cassette of an episode of MTVs 120 minutes, which is where I think I first heard this song. Either way, it was a scorching summer, so every song I listened to at that time reminds me of hot asphalt and melted candles, including this one. The song actually sounds melt-y, if you think about it. I remember Pixies' "Gigantic" was a go with, as was Green Day's "She," Helium's "XXX" (another amazing hot summer song) and if memory serves me an Offspring song. Music is the best scrapbook...
