When I was in college, I had a cat named "Tristessa." That's how much I liked the Smashing Pumpkins.

Over the weekend, we were listening to Gish (springtime seems to bring about old pumpkins...), and talking about the sound of early Pumpkins...polished, but still full of energy..... and of course it led to me looking up Madame ZuZu's teahouse and going from thinking it's incredibly lame to wanting to somehow get there (Billy plays vinyl Pumpkins records while you sip Caramel Dream Pu erh....I could be ok with that...).... Early Pumpkins, you will always hold a special place in my heart.
