Trashcan Sinatras were from Irvine/Kilmarnock and recorded in the 80s-90s. This track was probably their biggest commercial success. Expert exponents of the tongue in cheek and the jangly guitar, I saw them twice - once in Glasgow 1989, and once doing this impromptu live acoustic set during the Edinburgh Festival outside the Scottish National Gallery on The Mound https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1UgnpcHpvc I'd never seen this YT clip before, so lovely to see that moment in 1990 was captured for posterity

A couple of weeks back I read that The Trash Can Sinatras were working on a new album. Looking forward to that as I always enjoyed the material they put out over the years. An underrated band, perhaps more successful in the US than in the UK(?), but songs that are lyrically creative, and played with a real sense of purpose. First try at this but let's see if the hash tag works. Enjoy the song...

'Though I ought to be learning I feel like a veteran of 'oh, I like your poetry but I hate your poems'
So much to like about this. Another favourite.

Remember the days when record shops had headphones in the aisles? I heard the first 30 secs and bought it.
