"I'm at the darkened hillside
And there's a haze right between the trees
And I can barely see you
You're like an ocean in between the waves"
When I get to thinking on how bored I am with all the synths featured in a lot of the music comin out these days, I remember The War on Drugs, and then synths don't seem so bad.
This song is from their new album Lost In The Dream. Quickly becoming a favourite.
These guys are just so much fun to watch. They're so impossibly dorky, but by the 3 minute mark, they're going for it SO HARD, and the band is so unbelievably tight, that the song just starts levitating. Great performance. Great album, too.
This is a nice version of a song I can't stop listening to; it's all about the guitar solos and the motorik, for me. I don't love the sound mix in this KEXP version, but I'll always take a good live band.
