You know how in Terry Gilliam movies, there are these characters that are hyper and happy, barrelling through scenes with momentum...who then pause too long and see the horrifying death-spectre in the corner and have to regain momentum to avoid getting reaped? Yeah. Everyone gets older. Sickness and death starts to take loved people away. There's never enough time to do all the things. None of this is special. I just keep noticing it more the older I get. It gets both more reflexive AND more difficult to regain comic momentum after seeing more injustice and horror and death. I guess I just have to get used to it. It's sad/funny how this song came into my life just when I realized I was spending a lot more time than ever before feeling small and pointless in a totally chaotic and cold monsterverse. I keep increasing the time I spend in the Total Perspective Vortex. I gotta stay focused on what I can do. I know. But.
