Not everything by Jefferson Airplane was an acid-drenched revolutionary anthem. Marty Balin wrote this Surrealistic Pillow ballad in a failed attempt to meet Tony Bennett who was in the studio next door. I didn't know anyone had coveredthe song until this week when I came across this 1967 sax-heavy MOR treatment from Tom Scott's debut album.
