Quite simply the most powerful gut wrenching album that came out that year, Tracy Chapmen is a powerful emotional lyric writer and her distinctive voice, her self-title debut I think really had her at her strongest & most passionate work on it with themes of racism, poverty, alcoholism, just truly a gift to the world of music.
Turn it up and not be moved. This walloped me when I was 12. On the way to badminton, my friends brothers car.
