Ship Of Fools by World Party

So. This jam could be a response to @lindatee and @21schizoid discussion of 80's music gets a rough ride, or it could be my recent 19 hour car (add the word ship instead) ride, for which the words "Save Me' are very appropriate. Or it could be that this is a fantastic song and Karl Wallinger is a cheeky chap with sharp witty lyrics. I tend to get a bit verbose, so I will wave goodbye for now! "ALL ABOARD"   12

In preparation for my upcoming 30th, I've been collating a Spotify playlist of tracks to mark each year. This, of course, has turned into a rather sprawling project covering 150+ songs but I thought that I'd try and showcase some of them on TIMJ. So to start off, the years 1984-86 and the imperious World Party.   8

Heard this the other day for the first time in ages. Still holds up.

Inexplicably woke up with this song stuck in my head. Make it my jam? Why, yes. Yes, I will.

I'm staring down the barrel of a long working weekend. This song played on the radio just now while I was showering, and coupled with The Cars' "Just What I Needed" which played just before it, is... welll... Featuring Anthony Thistlethwaite on saxophone, this should help me get through the next couple days. Hope it helps you out too. I'm trying to jam more songs in the month of May than I have been all year thus far. I got a long list but this one wasn't on it. It is now! You're welcome to follow along my eargasmic adventure.   1
