Thanks @debutch, @boozybluesy. I absolutely hated Steely Dan when I was - hey - 19, having been force fed it against my will on regular long car journeys by a friend of my room mate at art college. Then a year or so later I started to get into The Nightfly, via hearing and liking New Frontier. Grew to love it, decided to give The Dan another go off my own bat and - hey presto - a few short years later they had become my favourite band, simply by virtue of having never recorded a single thing tha
...I have always said that Steely Dan are one of the VERY few bands that have never mad a bad record. ( Another that springs to mind is Talking Heads )
@debutch I agree with you regards Steely Dan, although wouldnt go quite that far with Talking Heads, although I fully appreciate David Byrne's genius .
