theleadingzero’s 2012 started strong with “Jem and the Holograms Opening Song” by Jem and the Holograms, and 26 more jams followed. There was a lot of rap, 80s, and pop. theleadingzero found a rare one: “A Night in Tunisia (Dizzy Gillespie cover)” by Turtle Island String Quartet. “vampire skank” by BeardyMan got a lot of love. theleadingzero was first to pick “My Funny Valentine” by Chet Baker, in February — 47 others followed suit! theleadingzero crossed 20 jams in February! 2012 drew to a close with “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey.

In October, theleadingzero joined This Is My Jam, and kicked things off with “We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off” by Kids on TV. Nice. It was a year of electro, indie rock, and singer-songwriters. They were the first, and only, to post “Boom Boom Boom” by MEN. People really liked “Tropicalia” by Beck. theleadingzero was first to pick “America” by Simon & Garfunkel, in December — 80 others followed suit! “Barbara Streisand (JD Samson Planet Rump edit)” by Duck Sauce closed out the year.
