Advice: What would you do. Jesca Hoop OR Hundred Waters (2nd time) at a private basement party. The invitation was received from a new aquaintance who is local (and I see often because she is staff at one of my favorite coffee houses), Hundred Waters was staying with a friend of hers. I've never seen Hoop! This decision is impossible!!!!
@thisismymistake see, that's funny, cause I was thinking "What if I could ask Jesca this question"... she would probably say go to the party... going with those flows is kinda her thing too. Last time she was in Austin noticed a tweet that she was sleeping on someone's porch. I'm still torn. -- Hundred Waters also has a set at a favorite east-side bar today, may do that and then decide if I've had enough.
@thisismymistake Yeah it's pretty horrific. Not having a badge/wristband has helped... forced me to avoid certain venues that are notoriously hard to get into.
@thisismymistake all worked out, caught Hundred Waters last set in town... turned out not to be playing at the house party, just hanging out (and doing laundry), so booked it over to HOOP before hand, and wow was the scramble over there worth it!
I tried travelling like that on the Brighton to Victoria train the other day but was told to get in....health and safety these days...eh?...it's just ridiculous!

The set times may not conflict... but I feel like it would be rude to treat the house party like a showcase and only pop in for one act.

PS - there is also a second chance Hoop show on Sunday. Hence this crazy deliberation.

@clickysounds I think you just captured the reason I don't go to SXSW. I would just freeze with decision paralysis all the time...

I'll have to get back to you on the Fado music; still checking it out. I do like the concerts by the university students though.
