@tomdwilly well, at the moment you have Amadou & Mariam, Rokia Traore, Lobi Traore (no relation) and Baba Salah for starters all playing a wonderful blend of Malian rhythms and western influences from soul, blues and even Jimi Hendrix

Rokia Traore is my fave at the moment. Check out her Beautiful Africa album. The Lobi Traore album I've got was released last year posthumously
