One of my favourite films. I love Julie Delpy too, an incredibly talented and beautiful woman. :)

@melissapulo @isaacn Would love to see one more after the twins have moved on to college and Jesse's son is starting a life away from home. Perhaps we'd discover that Jesse and Celine had been separated during much of the intervening time and are rediscovering each other when circumstances finally allow it. We could see them chatting on the phone in a split-screen with him in the U.S. and her in Paris, and after a good twenty minutes of this, they end up meeting somewhere else to get caught up.

@melissapulo @isaacn Of course, it won't be like "I miss you" and "I miss you too . . . let's get back together." There has to be some other reason why they end up together again, and it'll mostly give them time to reflect rather than just rekindle their romance. But yeah, "Before Midnight" was a letdown just cause relationships will almost always disappoint as time goes on. I think it's fascinating that they chose to take this course rather than continue on with the charming repartee.

@waynechapman44 I didn't think it was a let down at all, granted, the romantic in me prefers the first two, but I am glad they went in the direction they did as it is much more realistic and that is refreshing as the Hollywood sentiment is that films have to end 'happily ever after'. They still loved each other, but mundanity, routine and disappointment, with themselves and each other, had set in, like you said, as with most relationships. Thought it was wonderful because of its honesty. :)

@melissapulo I completely agree! I just meant it goes against our expectations as "Before Sunset" did if you assumed the two of them actually did meet at the station in Vienna. I also assumed they didn't have sex in the park that night and was obviously wrong about that as well. For me, these films tend to deepen over time, so "Before Midnight" will become just as cherished in its own way as the first two have. But I do hope there'll be another chapter that will temper the bitterness somewhat.

@waynechapman44 Yes, I would like another chapter too. I love how Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke are involved in the script writing too, I think there is a lot of their real personality in the films. I like the films Blue Valentine and Revolutionary Road for a similar realistic look at relationships, but neither has the same magic as the Before Sunrise trilogy :)
