In the 90's I thought this would become the next music revolution, you didn't need to play an instrument; just sample the sounds and add your lyrics on top...too bad it didn't catch on.

Well, it sort of became the status quo. There is a lot of electronic support and sampling these days. It allows a lot of bands to be small with a big sound. I don't mind it, but I do like real instruments to form the bulk of a piece of music.

I agree, but I think that sooo much great music and emotion may be lost because someone CAN'T play an instrument and am sad. Sure I guess they could put it into the world as poetry, but that limites the exposure to only the few who enjoy reading poetry. It lends itself to the question, what is more tragic, a brick layer that spends his whole life trying to write poetry, or a Poet that spends his life as a brick layer. I would rather not lose the songs, ad most people have a song inside them
