Having caught a little bit of both acts, give me the Raincoats over "drunken grandpa tottering around the stage mumbling" any time...
I would have chosen the Raincoats too! I saw them a couple of years ago and they were wonderful.
They were the two bands I most wanted to see so I'd have been well miffed if I'd gone! dunno who I'd have chosen. Probably The Fall just cos I've seen The Raincoats more recently. This track is lovely.
